The jigsaw (2) has a machine housing (4), and a guide plate (8) turned towards a workpiece, and a jigsaw blade (10) projecting over the guide plate and driven back and forth. The jigsaw is inclined for implementing plunged cuts at an axis or an edge of the guide plate extending transverse to a working plane of the jigsaw blade. A slide preventing unit (14) is provided in an area of the axis or the edge. The guide plate is fitted by the slide preventing unit when inclined against the workpiece. The slide preventing unit is made of elastic soft material such as rubber lining.
